Golf in Moray and the Highlands
Inverness and Moray are blessed with a stunning selection of golf courses, all ready and waiting to welcome their visitors.
Lately the Scottish Highlands has seen the addition of the Championship course at Castle Stuart which has played host to the Scottish Open, Nairn hosted the Curtis Cup and Spey Valley the Scottish Hydro Challenge.
Although Castle Stuart may be deemed as the Jewel in the Crown of the area’s golf courses, when visiting you should also look to others such as Nairn and Nairn Dunbar, they are well worth the green fee and share the same stretch of Moray coastline.
Nairn really is a superb links course that provides a few challenges and stunning views, whilst Nairn Dunbar has a lengthy history of hosting big-name tournaments since it’s opening in 1899.
Head south and inland to the Cairngorms National Park where the bustling town of Aviemore is home to the Spey Valley Golf Course. It enjoys a stunning mountain backdrop and is a test from start to finish.
Close by is the pretty village “Boat of Garten” where there is an absolute gem of a course set amidst the most amazing and picturesque countryside.
Heading north from Grantown-on-Spey to Loch Ness, or east to Moray and Aberdeenshire you will find an array of pleasurable golf courses each with its own unique charm.
